The Nanaimo Hornets RFC is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Canada. Even though our club house was built in 1968, we celebrated our 125thanniversary as an organization in 2016. Making the Hornets Rugby Club a staple within Nanaimo’s Community. We have over 200 Club Members which consists of team players, alumni, and supporters of this wonderful sport called Rugby Union. All of our Rugby teams are well known on the Island for our uncompromising style of play, hospitality and integrity; both on and off the field. The clubs Mission is to grow the game of Rugby within our community and one of our ways we do that is having our players coach at local schools. We promote a healthy and safe atmosphere by teaching the values and traditions of the game. Our goal is to live as we play, with passion, pride, honor, and respect. HORNETS TEAMS
At the club we have a variety of teams with different experience levels; something for everyone. Our top team is the Men’s Premier Team which is a feeder team to Canada’s National Rugby team. The 2019/2020 year will be our 3rd year at the Premier level, and each year we continue to do better in the overall standings. The men also have a Premier Reserve Team which feed into our Top Premier Team. This Premier Reserve team promotes skill building and they are driven to make the step up into the Premier Team. Our Women’s team is made up of a variety of ladies, from beginners to the experienced and our “Old Boy’s” team is for the passionate rugby retirees who still want to play but at a less impactful speed. And last but not least we have our Mini’s and Junior’s programs which teaches both our boys and girls aged 5 to 17 this great team sport.

The funds generated from our Sponsorship Opportunities will be used throughout our club for items such as:
